Research Experience

* 9/2000 - Present, Researching Assistant in EE dept. SUNY-Binghamton

  Working on reliability and cost optimization evaluation for
  fault-tolerant system sponsored by Xerox Corp. The result will
  be widely used in Xerox Corp to evaluate the new copy/printing
  machine designs.

  Tools: Matlab, ASSIST, SURE

* 6/2000 - 8/2000, Researching Assistant in EE dept. SUNY-Binghamton

  Developing a fault detection algorithm for non-parametric system
  identification. This project is based on a USA patent, and has
  been used in mining industry. A paper has been submitted to
  American Control Conference 2001, based on the simulation result.

  Tools: Matlab, Simulink

* 9/1999 - 5/2000, Researching Assistant in EE dept. SUNY-Binghamton

  Developing a time-based optimal scheduling algorithm to automatically
  reschedule for dynamic system in any element fault modes, sponsored
  by Xerox Corp. The result is patent-pending.

  Tools: Matlab

* 6/1999 - 8/1999, Internship in Marking System Lab, Xerox Corp

  Developing a fault tolerant optimal scheduling algorithm for dynamic
  systems which have functional redundancy design, to make the system
  keep the ability to finish the proposed job in least possible time,
  when some needed functional components are faulty.

  Tools: Matlab

* 9/1998 - 5/1999, Researching Assistant in EE dept. SUNY-Binghamton

  Working on fault tolerant control and adaptive control.

* 1/97-5/98, Automatic Control dept. Huazhong University of Sci&Tech

  Master thesis with topic "virtual Instrument". Make investigation about
  the marketing virtual instrument(VI), and the technological realization
  of VI, design a PC-based VI for temperature measurement application,with
  high-speed data acquisition card and friendly human-machine interface.

  Tools: Delphi, VB, C, Assembler, Protel

  Publication: "Virtual instrument, a new way of thought", Computer-based
  Automatic Detection and Control, 1996.4

* 7/96-12/96, Automatic Control dept, Huazhong University of Sci and Tech

  Design a Microprocessor-based humidity and temperature detecting system,
  including analog signal processing circuit, data acquisition circuit,
  Intel8098 and display circuit.

  Tools: Assembler, Protel

* 2/96-6/96, Automatic Control dept, Huazhong University of Sci and Tech

  Advisor for two undergraduate students with their BE thesis with topic
  "Microcomputer-based pressure measurement".

  Tools: Assembler, Protel

* 2/95-6/95, Automatic Control dept, Huazhong University of Sci and Tech

  BE thesis with topic "Microprocessor-based PID Controller For Paper
  Thickness Application". Design the data acquisition, data processing
  and DAC parts of the detecting system, using Intel8098 as main processor.

  Tools: Assembler, Protel
